The New Connell's Chain

Based on the book by David Nicholls, ‘One Day’ sees the lives of Dexter and Emma (played by Ambika Mod) unfold over 14 episodes spanning from 15th July from 1988 to 2007.

The sartorial choices stunned us with their accuracy and playfulness. But our eyes, as always, were firmly centred on the jewellery. In this case, Dexter’s silver signet ring (that he wears through the show) is a marker of his social standing. It’s meaningful too – emblazoned with initials, it’s no doubt a family heirloom of sorts that goes on to represent his relationship with his mother. Though his character and outfit styling changes, his jewellery stays constant – as does his love and affection for Emma.
