Why are there multiple birthstones for some months?
Some months offer more than one stone giving you even more to choose from. This is partly down to tradition (different cultures had different stones) and partly about modern alternatives and affordability.
What is the rarest birthstone?
Ruby is one of the rarest and most valuable stones on this list especially those with a rich and vivid red colour. High-quality rubies are prized for their intensity and are often rarer (and sometimes more expensive) than diamonds.
