Harris Reed x Missoma: The Story Behind the Collaboration

Since it started in 2021, our collaboration with the fashion designer Harris Reed has always been about creating jewellery that’s meaningful and made for self-expression. What started as a friendship has become one of the most recognisable designer partnerships in jewellery, worn by everyone from Billie Eilish to Kendall Jenner and shown on runways at London Fashion Week.

Few designers are rewriting the rules of fashion quite like Reed – bold, boundary-pushing, and entirely himself. From dressing A-listers for the Met Gala to creating ever more dramatic and romantic silhouettes, we're forever in awe of his vision

Now, we're back with our most personal collection yet, The Keepsake Edit.

This is jewellery designed to be treasured for years to come, with new symbolic designs and curated sets you'll love, inspired by Victorian keepsakes.

At its heart is the new Harris Reed Pearly T-Bar Necklace – a pearl-fect twist on a jewellery classic, and now part of our ultimate T-bar lineup. It’s finished with bullet-shaped crystal end cabs, ridged detailing and luminous seed pearls.

"What I love about working with Missoma is transporting my larger world into an everyday classic – taking an everyday heirloom and making it meaningful and wearable... The Keepsake Edit is about celebrating individuality, freedom and self-expression through jewellery you'll wear for years to come."

New symbols join the ones that started it all

  • Taking Flight – swallows for freedom, hope and loyalty
  • All My Heart – for love and passion
  • Protective Eye – an Evil Eye for protection, intuition and vision
  • Hidden words, Fearless, Freedom and Self-Love – wear Harris' go-to mantras facing in for a private message, or turn out for the world to see

How Harris Styles the Collaboration

  • The power of three -  mixing metals and textures, seed pearls against skinny chains and pendants, always in threes
  • Mixing stones – labradorite with seed pearls, or two pendants worn together
  • Ring stacking – a signet or double stack on the pinky, three to four rings of different mediums and textures on the ring finger. "We leave the thumbs, because otherwise we're not going to be able to open any doors"

"I'm a bit of a maximalist... It's about having fun and risk taking, but also classic and a bit modern. Half my hands are usually flea market finds and then the Missoma collection. It's mix and match, modern vintage."

From 2021 to Now: Where Harris Reed x Missoma Began

When our founder Marisa Hordern first met gender-fluid fashion designer Harris Reed, they both knew it was a serendipitous encounter. Conversations followed about what would happen if you took Harris's vision and made it accessible by creating jewellery for everyone. The idea of a collection was born – conceptualised during lockdown, with sketches and samples exchanged over Zoom and via bike courier between Harris and Missoma's London studio.

The first Harris Reed x Missoma collection launched in September 2021 with gold, silver and solid gold styles that sold out almost instantly. Personal and poignant, its gothic, romantic symbols drew from "the old world" while standing for the future – new heirlooms of fluidity and inclusivity.

"Throughout this collaborative process, I was really able to let my creativity run free and able to dream as big as I could possibly dream." - Harris Reed

Always In Good Hands

The In Good Hands Necklace has sold out over and over – worn by Hailey Bieber, V of BTS, Billie Eilish, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Emma Watson, Ncuti Gatwa, Anya Taylor-Joy and Kendall Jenner, who wore the collection on the cover of Pop Magazine. The emblem has appeared in Harris's London Fashion Week show 60 Years A Queen, and Harris himself has worn it while dressing clients from Adele to Sam Smith to Demi Moore at the Met Gala.

"The design represents our acceptance of others and ourselves. An icon of Georgian jewellery, clasped hands were used to represent friendship and love. With our hands we can link together and raise each other up high. Wearing the necklace is a symbol of self-love and expression."

We've celebrated the emblem together too, from an opulent dinner at The Old Sessions House in London and a night at LA's Houdini Estate to mark the launch, to a candlelit evening at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden, surrounded by our favourites.
